Hyde Park is one of London’s best open spaces to enjoy music and other great activities, and summer 2017 is really no exception to this rule. At the Grand Hotel Hyde Park, we’re excited about the upcoming events happening right on our doorstep. Here are the biggest and best you need to know about.
Healthy Deserts – 5th June
Renowned health coach Chantal Di Donato is visiting Hyde Park to coincide with the launch of her new book, Innocently Sweet. At this interactive workshop, she’ll be showing visitors how they can enjoy sweet treats even on a vegan diet. You’ll be guaranteed to come away with a new favourite treat to satisfy your sweet tooth in a completely guilt free way! You can get tickets here, though it’s important to note the workshop is only open to over 18s.
Royal Gun Salute – 10th June
It’s the Duke of Edinburgh’s 95th birthday, and in honour of an important part of our Monarchy a royal gun salute is to be held right in Hyde Park. Visitors will get to see The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery ride their horses and gun carriages across the impressive Parade Ground, before stating a 41 Gun Royal Salute. The gun salute doesn’t begin until noon, but we’d recommend getting to the park early in order to catch a glimpse of the action. Find out more about the Royal Gun Salutes here.
Water Lilies and Wine – 16th June
What more could you want than a tranquil setting and a glass of wine? This event is an evening of pure relaxation for adults looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. You’ll get to enjoy the park’s private sun terrace with a glass of wine or soft drink, and you can spend the evening exploring the ground’s private gardens. Then comes the ‘water lilies’ part of the evening, as you embark on a guided pond dipping session, looking for the wonderful life beneath the water lilies. Get your tickets here.
British Summer Time – 30th June – 8th July
Now in its fifth year, Barclaycard presents British Summer Time has become one of the highlights of the music calendar. This year some of the biggest names in music will be delighting fans in the sunshine over consecutive nights. This year’s acts are Phil Collins, Green Day, Kings of Leon, Justin Bieber, The Killers, and Tom Petty. There’s something for everyone, and there’s still time to grab your tickets for some of the shows.
Flow Yoga with Rali Gineva – 17th July
Vinyasa Flow is a type of yoga growing in popularity, and now teacher Rali Gineva is bringing the practise to Hyde Park. Gineva will guide visitors through her popular brand of Dynamic Vinyasa Flow Yoga. It’s both fun and accessible, suitable for adults of all ages and perfect for beginners – with the added bonus of being in the beautiful setting of Hyde Park.
