Bayswater is well-served by an extensive network of Transport for London services. The area has several tube stations, including Bayswater (for District Line and Circle Line trains), Queensway (Central Line), Royal Oak (Hammersmith & City and Circle lines) and Paddington (Hammersmith & City, District, Circle and Bakerloo lines).
Paddington also offers non-Transport for London services, including fast trains to Heathrow Airport via the Heathrow Express (journey time 15 minutes), as well as national rail services to west London, the west of England and South Wales.
Buses run from Bayswater to many parts of London, including 24-hour services. There are bus services from Bayswater to destinations such as Denmark Hill, Acton, Russell Square, Liverpool Street Station, Camden Town, New Cross and Bow.
It’s easy to get taxis in Bayswater – the best places to hail them include along Queensway, Bayswater Road and Westbourne Grove, or from outside Paddington Station.
If you would like to get from A to B on two wheels, or just fancy the freedom to explore the area at your own pace, Transport for London also owns the Barclays Cycle Hire scheme. Automated docking stations in Bayswater can be found in locations including Lancaster Gate, Whiteleys and Westbourne Grove, and are easy to use. You pay by credit or debit card and take a bike for as long as you need it, then return it to any docking station. It’s ideal if you want to take a leisurely ride through Hyde Park, or along the canal towpath from Little Venice.
