As a busy and vibrant city, there is plenty to do when it comes to evening entertainment. Whether you are a young couple looking for somewhere to party or a young family looking for a last minute way to wear the kids out, you won’t be short of options in the capital city.
As with most places there are the obvious choices such as the cinema and theatre, although if you have children in tow you might find that after a certain time the family friendly options stop being shown. London is probably one of the few places where this is less likely to be the case so it is always worth checking to see what is on. Many museums also have a ‘late night’ opening one day a week which may be suitable, again, this is something which would be worth checking to see if any of the times coincide with your visit.
Many of the parks will continue to be open past 7pm so if you fancy a stroll in the cool evening air, at a time when the more popular parks will be quieter. This is a great option for families, especially whilst it is still light until around 9pm as you can allow your children to burn off excess energy before returning to your hotel for the night.
7pm is also a pretty good time to head out for something to eat, especially if you want to get a table at one of the best London restaurants. Typically Londoners will eat between 6.30pm and 7pm so it may be worth booking a table if there is a particular restaurant you want to eat in but it will also mean you blend in with the natives and get to experience the amazing atmosphere which London takes on, of an evening.
Finally, one of the best ways to experience London after 7pm is to just walk around. If you head down towards Covent Gardens or the South Bank there are many street entertainers who come out in the early evening and these can be very interesting to watch, especially if you have children with you. Even if you don’t, it’s something which everyone who visits London should experience at least once.
