The winter months immediately after Christmas can be incredibly dull. Wet, miserable weather, grey skies, and cold spells all work together to make us count down the days until spring finally arrives! If you are feeling worn down by the monotony of these winter months then why not book yourself a short break to London?
London is such a vibrant city that there is always something exciting happening and winter is no different. You could visit Canary Wharf Ice Rink, thought to be the best ice skating rink in London. Even if you’ve been in previous years, they have extended and expanded the rink to include skate path and an on-site bar for skaters too. Alternatively, if the weather doesn’t hold out during your trip you could visit the Natural History Museum. They currently have a special exhibition showcasing images from the Wildlife Photographer of the Year which is a must see for anyone with an interest in photography.
When looking for a hotel for your winter break, make sure you choose somewhere central to avoid unnecessary walking in the cold (possibly wet) weather. Hotels near Hyde Park, for example, would put you in the perfect position and although you might not imagine that the park would be the most picturesque place in winter, it would provide you with the perfect opportunity to take a brisk walk and get your blood pumping in the cold weather. It would also give the ideal excuse to pick up a hot chocolate after your walk as a treat!
If you spend some time researching online you should be able to find a number of discount hotels located close to the centre. There are a number of good comparison website which will aid you in comparing hotel deals or alternatively, the hotel websites themselves may have special offers to help drum up business in this quiet period.
Treat yourself this winter and book a break to experience London. You won’t regret it!
