London Vacation: Is it Worth the Trip?

Planning a holiday can be very stressful; where do you go? What do you see? Is there going to be enough to do for couples or families? Instead of heading to a beach this year, take in the sights and sounds of a capital city and embrace the city life. London is one of the most popular city destinations in the world and it isn’t hard to see why.

Why A London Vacation?

London is one of the busiest capital cities in the world and its rich history, incredible range of shops and wide range of restaurants, bars and clubs offer a unique experience every time you visit. The 4 star hotels London has are vast and are situated in some ideal spots around the city making it an ideal holiday for families as you are guaranteed a famous site or a great experience right on your hotel doorstep.

Packing for a city break such as London can be tricky, especially as the weather in the UK is so unpredictable. Don your best walking boots or comfortable trainers as the best way to see London is on foot where you can explore its many secret alleyways and beautiful parks. A camera is a must as the sights around the city are incredible and it is the best way to keep the memories from your trip.

Accommodation

There are hundreds of hotels in the centre of the city that offer a comfortable stay at great rates. The discount hotels in Bayswater offer a prime location as is it on the doorstep of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens which connect districts such as Knightsbridge, Chelsea, Piccadilly and Westminster. Hotels such as the Grand Royale London Hyde Park allows a luxury night stay but at a decent price and major sites within walking distance – it’s ideal.

Fun Things to Do

You will not be short of things to do in the city and, with many of the museums offering free admission, London is much more budget friendly than it used to be. If history is your thing then you are spoilt for choice with Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, and British Museum in the heart of the city or if you love to shop the city is your oyster with Harrods, Selfridges, Oxford Street and Regent Street open to you seven days a week. If you are travelling with children, Hamleys is a must as well as the Science and History museums which are free and offer a wide range of activities for kids.

London Restaurants

It is true what they say, you can explore London through its cuisine. There is so much to choose from, Indian, Chinese, Lebanese, Thai, Japanese, British, French, Italian…the list is endless. During your trip away, try some street food, market food and at least one high end restaurant so you get an overall experience of London’s culinary delights. If you are looking for a unique experience, head to Dans Le Noir where you will pick a menu and eat your food in the dark. It is something you will talk about for years to come.
