Is it worth going to London zoo: what else for 6 year old?

London is a great place to visit with children; there are literally hundreds of exciting days out and interesting tourist attractions which will engage children of all ages. The capital city is something which will be talked about by teachers in school and of particular interest will be the landmarks such as Buckingham Palace and Big Ben, as well as those things which are stereotypical of London such as the big red buses. If you are planning a visit in the near future, then why not consider the following:-

London ZooFor Younger Children
Although you may not think the Big Smoke is suitable for those under 5, there is actually plenty for them to see and do. There are a number of parks with adventure playgrounds, such as the Princess Diana playground in Kensington Gardens complete with pirate ship. There are also fantastic days out such as London Zoo, the London Aquarium and numerous city farms which will keep little people entertained. If you are planning an overnight stay, think Central London when booking Grand Royale London Hyde Park Hotel as it will be easier to get to the main tourist attractions without having to navigate the tube with a pushchair in tow.

For Older Children
London is a place of wonder for older children, from museums such as the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum where they can get up close and interact with various exhibits to the Royal Observatory and Cutty Sark ship in Greenwich. If you fancy looking round London on foot, you could make a treasure hunt and encourage children to spot the iconic landmarks which London is famous for.

For Teenagers
The capital city can hold as much wonder for teenagers as it can for younger children, although it might require just a little bit more thought depending on their interests. If they love to shop then there is nowhere better than the shopping districts of London with everything from the eclectic Portobello Market to the Designer stores of Bond Street and Mayfair. Alternative options include a Street Art Walking Tour and a visit to Madame Tussauds, where they can pose with their favourite celebrity.
