How to have a romantic New Year celebration with your other half

Romantic Celebration

Although Paris holds the title of the city of love, London is certainly no slouch in the romance department. Our capital is home to a multitude of romantic spots that have been the location of countless proposals over the years and what better time to pop the question than New Year’s Eve?

Whether you’re building up the courage to ask the person of your dreams to marry you or are new couple looking to celebrate New Year together, you really are spoilt for romantic spots to choose from in our capital city. There’s so many to pick from that we’ve decided to make it easier for you by choosing our best locations to have a romantic New Year’s evening with your other half.

Romantic Celebration

London Eye

Located on the southern side of the Thames and a short taxi ride away from our Grand Royale London Hyde Park is one of our capital’s most famous attractions: The London Eye. The spacious, snug pods in the eye will give you and your loved one ultimate privacy, and the 30-minute ride will give you plenty of time to try out your cheesiest lines and lean in for a smooch. If you’re thinking of popping the big question, why not get down on one knee when the eye is at the top of its revolution for the ultimate proposal view? Whether you plan to propose or not, soaring high above London, sipping on a glass of bubbly and watching the festive celebrations below makes for the ultimate in romantic New Year’s Eve activities.

Primrose Hill

If you’re looking for a quieter spot to romance your other half then Primrose Hill is the place to be. This 213-foot hill will give you both the perfect spot to view the annual fireworks from, as well as giving you one of the best vantage points in London of our capital’s stunning cityscape. The hill was actually used for duels in London’s past life, but we’re sure you’ll be using it for a much more tender purpose if you’re reading this!

You can get to Primrose Hill by heading eastwards from your hotel London Hyde Park, and if you head over to the hill earlier in the day you’ll be greeted by an incredible view of the sun setting over London. What’s more romantic than watching the sun going down together for the final time in 2017?

Great Gatsby London New Year’s Eve Party

If you’re looking to see the New Year in true style, then you might want to head over to the Sky Garden for the Great Gatsby London New Year’s Eve Party. The dazzling height of the gardens means that you’ll have the perfect bird’s-eye view of the annual fireworks that our capital has become famed for, and the vintage 1920s-style dress code means that you and your loved one can dress up together for a truly magical night of romance. As well as providing ample food and drink throughout the night, the Sky Garden’s New Year’s Eve Party will also be hosting live bands from 8pm and a late-night DJ who will have you waltzing in each other’s arms until 2am.
